Manager Erik ten Hag chose not to bring on Alejandro Garnacho in the recent Manchester United vs. Burnley match, citing contentment with the team’s organization.
Despite chants from supporters for Garnacho’s introduction during the second half, the 19-year-old remained an unused substitute in United’s 1-0 victory at Turf Moor.

Garnacho omission explained
Garnacho had previously started in the opening match against Wolves this season, but his limited involvement in the Burnley game puzzled some fans. His younger brother, Roberto, even posted a tweet with a laughing emoji, seemingly in reference to his brother’s unused status.
Erik ten Hag explained his decision, saying, “He (Garnacho) was in against Munich and I thought our team was playing very well. So I wouldn’t change that tonight because this game was a demand to keep that organization.
That’s why I wouldn’t change. I saw the players were still capable, the fitness levels were good, and the energy was still there, it was only 1-0.”
Carabao Cup Challenge
Roy Hodgson, Crystal Palace’s manager, has admitted that he faces challenges in the Carabao Cup against Manchester United due to an increasing injury list. Palace had six first-team players unavailable for their recent 0-0 draw against Fulham. Among them was Michael Olise, who rejected a summer move to Chelsea and has yet to make an appearance for Palace this season.
Hodgson expressed frustration over the growing injury concerns and hinted that he might have to change tactics ahead of their upcoming double-header against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Odsonne Edouard, who has already scored four goals in the Premier League this season, also suffered an injury in the recent match against Fulham.
