Liverpool’s rookie is the second fastest in the Premier League, just behind the “speed king”

Dominik Szoboszlai has made an impressive start at Liverpool, and his recent display of speed during a match has raised eyebrows.

Since joining Liverpool from RB Leipzig for £60 million in the summer, Szoboszlai has played in all 5 matches at the beginning of the season, making significant contributions with his abundant energy.

Szoboszlai’s record is difficult to break this season.

According to sports researcher Simon Brundish, Szoboszlai has become the second fastest player in Premier League history. Specifically, during the clash between Liverpool and Wolves, the Hungarian midfielder was recorded reaching a speed of 36.76 km/h in a sprint to retrieve the ball.

This statistic is remarkable for a player who is not primarily a winger (although he can play on the right flank when needed). For comparison, the current fastest player in the Premier League is Kyle Walker, the new captain of Manchester City, who reached a record speed of 37.3 km/h last year.

In the previous season, another Liverpool player, Darwin Nunez, ranked fifth in terms of speed with a sprint reaching 36.53 km/h.

"I had to hold him back!" - Klopp says more to come from Dominik Szoboszlai

It can be said that Liverpool currently possesses some of the top sprinters in the Premier League. If Klopp’s players maintain their spirit and form, they could pose a significant challenge to teams like Manchester City and Arsenal in the title race.
