Mohamed Salah’s future remains under scrutiny

Jakub Kiwior’s own-goal and a late strike from Luis Diaz secured the Reds’ passage to the fourth round of the competition. Jurgen Klopp’s side face Fulham in a Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg tie on Wednesday, before an 11-day break ahead of their next Premier League game, a trip to face Bournemouth.

In the meantime, Liverpool could dip into the transfer market to sign more players as they try and continue to push in four different competitions. As well as the Carabao Cup, FA Cup and Premier League, Liverpool restart their Europa League adventure in March and could add more players to strengthen their squad.

With that in mind, here are the latest transfer rumours from Anfield.

Carvalho subject to interest

Fabio Carvalho is subject to interest from several Premier League clubs this month.

The 21-year-old has seen his season-long loan spell at RB Leipzig cut short, having made just one start in the Bundesliga after arriving in the summer transfer window. However, Carvalho is expected to be sent back out on loan, with a number of teams interested.

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool have received a number of loan enquiries for the attacker, including from Wolves, Leeds, Southampton and Fulham. Carvalho’s chances of regular game time will be a contributing factor in determining where his next destination lies.

Liverpool learn Summerville price

Liverpool will have to fork out £30million if they want sign Crysencio Summerville from Leeds.

The Reds are eyeing a move for Summerville in the summer transfer window, as Jurgen Klopp tries to bolster his long-term options. The 22-year-old has scored 12 goals and grabbed six assists in 24 matches this season.

Aston Villa and Everton are among the others who have been linked with a move Summerville this month. And according to TEAMtalk, any interested party will have to pay £30m to sign the Dutchman.

Fowler’s Salah claim

Robbie Fowler has admitted he would love Mohamed Salah to stay at Liverpool but believes a move to Saudi Arabia would suit all parties in the not-so-distant future.

“Salah will be 32 next summer and will still be coveted as one of the world’s greatest players,” he told Mirror Football. “But the fact that he is the No 1 Muslim footballer on the planet would make him even more precious in the country that is the cradle of Islam.‌ That’s why I’d be amazed if Saudis don’t still have designs on Liverpool’s No 11.

“I get that supporters are interested in team sheets rather than balance sheets. But the people who run Liverpool have sharp business minds and they will weigh up the value of any player to the club and measure it against his value in the transfer market before acting accordingly.

“‌I would love nothing more than to see Salah end his career in the famous red shirt. But I am a realist who understands that there will probably be a time, in the not-too-distant future, when a move to Saudi Arabia would be the perfect fit for all parties.”
