Klopp ‘doesn’t trust’ Endo
Former Liverpool star Steve Nicol has claimed that Jurgen Klopp “doesn’t trust” Japanese midfielder Wataru Endo. He was signed from Bundesliga side Stuttgart in the summer but has yet to make much of an impact.
The 30-year-old has made six Premier League appearances since his arrival but that only accounts for 114 minutes on the pitch. “The thing is he can afford to have Mac Allister a little deeper because they are pretty good still at going forward,” Nicol told ESPN.
“But I don’t think he trusts Endo, I think that’s probably a better word. He doesn’t trust him yet to start him and have the other two further up.”
Jota pays tribute to Diaz
Amid the ongoing situation involving Luis Diaz’s parents, Diogo Jota ensured to pay tribute to his teammate during Sunday’s win against Forest. The Portuguese forward opened the scoring at Anfield as he latched onto a rebound from Darwin Nunez’s saved shot.
Immediately after scoring, Jota raced over to the substitutes’ bench and picked up a shirt adorned with Diaz’s name to then show it to all corners of Anfield. Speaking after his gesture, the striker said: “It’s a very hard situation and I don’t know how anyone would react if it happened to you.
“He was going to play. I played instead of him and I showed him his shirt to show we’re with him and we hope everything works out. It’s unimaginable to think a situation like this could happen. We can just support him and show him we’re with him.”

Klopp taken aback by gesture
Speaking of Jota’s Diaz-themed gesture, Klopp has revealed that he was surprised by his actions. He said: “It was fighting for Lucho, so the boys put out his shirt and I was not 100 percent prepared for that, it was really touching, but wonderful as well.
“We heard last night, late about it. We spoke to Lucho and he went home. We sent people with him and part of his family is there, that’s why they want to be together. Then we got the news about the mum, which is fantastic, but since then, nothing really.”
