Reports indicate that Jota’s tackle on Destiny Udogie, which resulted in his second yellow card and subsequent sending off, was not deemed deserving of a yellow card by referee Simon Hooper. The panel’s report stated that “the majority deemed the decision as incorrect as they felt it did not meet the threshold for a yellow card,” with three out of five panel members voting against a booking.
The panel includes three former players and/or coaches, along with one representative from the PGMOL (Professional Game Match Officials Limited) and the Premier League.
Gravenberch Delighted With Debut Goal
Ryan Gravenberch has described his debut goal for Liverpool as the “best goal” of his career so far. The Dutch midfielder found the net in Liverpool’s victory over Union Saint-Gilloise, capitalizing on a mistake by Anthony Moris.
Reflecting on his goal, Gravenberch said, “Yeah, it was great. It feels super good, it was the best goal of my career so far, I think! No, the easiest of my career.”
