Jadon Sancho: ‘Ten Hag is a conservative guy, he never listens to anyone’s opinions’

Jadon Sancho and manager Erik ten Hag’s relationship at Manchester United has been increasingly tense, prompting the club’s football director to intervene in an attempt to resolve the internal discord.

According to the Daily Mail, Richard Arnold, the club’s managing director, has requested that John Murtough, the football director, step in to find a solution to the conflict between Ten Hag and Jadon Sancho to soothe the unsettled atmosphere within the club. The aim is to prevent this internal strife from affecting the morale of other players.

Previously, Ten Hag omitted Sancho from the matchday squad for the game against Arsenal in the Premier League, citing dissatisfaction with Sancho’s performances in training sessions. Ten Hag stated, “I select players based on their performances in training, so I decided not to choose Sancho.”

In response, the 23-year-old player took to Twitter to deny Ten Hag’s claims, stating, “Please don’t believe everything you read. I have performed well in training this week. I believe there are other reasons behind this issue that I don’t want to delve into. I am the scapegoat here, clearly there is no fairness.”

Although he didn’t name Ten Hag directly, it was evident to everyone whom Jadon Sancho was referring to. However, he later deleted the tweet and refused to apologize.

According to Sancho’s representative, he is extremely frustrated with Ten Hag, and there have been complaints about Ten Hag’s conservative approach and his unwillingness to listen to others’ opinions. Sancho appears to be losing patience at Manchester United and is seeking a way out. He has even expressed his readiness to publicly discuss any internal issues at Manchester United after being dropped from the squad by Ten Hag.

Sancho joined Manchester United in 2021 for £73 million but has yet to fully justify his price tag with 12 goals and 6 assists in a total of 82 appearances. Currently, he is banned from training with the first team, and his chances of starting in the near future seem uncertain.

Speaking about Sancho’s current situation at Manchester United, football expert Darren Bent:

“If Sancho wants to stay at Manchester United, he has to change, resolve the issues within himself. Sancho speaking out publicly is basically saying, ‘Please leave,’ and I think he’s acted too hastily.”

It remains to be seen how this situation will develop and whether Sancho will find a resolution to his issues at Manchester United or seek a transfer elsewhere.
