Ten Hag seems to be growing frustrated with Sancho’s lackluster performances. The 23-year-old was even left out of the squad against Arsenal on Sunday, September 3, 2023.
After the match, Ten Hag openly revealed his reason for not including Sancho. The player’s performance during training was considered subpar.

Sancho should learn from Wan-Bissaka’s experience of being underestimated by Ten Hag. The right-back knows how to handle criticism.
“When in your worst period, there are only two choices: you can sit and complain or keep working hard and trying”, he said some time ago. “I thought the best way to regain my position at that time was to keep trying”, Wan-Bissaka told The Athletic.
Understanding the Manager’s Desires:
Wan-Bissaka was one of the players almost let go in the summer of 2023, but he was eventually given a chance to stay.
He didn’t waste this opportunity. The player is now even prioritized over Diogo Dalot in the right-back position.
“The manager just wants all the players to give their all and do what he wants. That’s what makes me have to adapt again”, he said.
Sancho Has Been Given a Chance:
Like Wan-Bissaka, Sancho has already been given a chance by Ten Hag. The manager even defended him when his performance was criticized.
