Gabriela Cavallin, the ex-girlfriend of Manchester United’s Antony, has released a statement through her lawyers just hours after the club announced that Antony would not be returning to training anytime soon.
Antony, an £85 million winger, is currently under investigation by the police in both Manchester and Sao Paulo. He was also dropped from the Brazil national team for their World Cup qualifiers this month. Despite the allegations, Antony vehemently denies any wrongdoing and has vowed to clear his name.
Gabriela Cavallin posted a statement by her lawyers on Instagram
Gabriela Cavallin, a DJ and influencer aged 22, shared the statement on her Instagram stories. The statement from her lawyers reads:
“Gabriela Cavallin’s defense, in view of the facts and evidence that became public knowledge on this date, regarding the repeated episodes of aggression suffered by her, informs that she trusts in the serious and competent investigation of the Civil Police of Sao Paulo, and equally of the Police of Manchester/UK, and hopes that, once completed, the aggressor will be prosecuted and punished for the crimes he committed.”

Antony, who has not been suspended by the club, has been granted an indefinite leave of absence. Manchester United has made it clear that he will continue to receive his full pay during this period. This decision reflects the seriousness with which the club is treating the allegations, and they will keep reviewing the situation.
Cavallin has been vocal in her calls for Antony to be dropped from the squad, particularly in light of the controversy surrounding Mason Greenwood. In his own statement, Antony said:
“I have agreed with Manchester United to take a period of absence while I address the allegations made against me.”
