Despite having three years left on his current contract, Ben White is still under consideration for an extension by the Arsenal board, thanks to his outstanding performances lately.
At the start of the season, Ben White secured the central defender position alongside Saliba, sidelining Gabriel. This situation led to speculation that Gabriel might move to Saudi Arabia.

Eventually, Gabriel accepted the competition and decided to stay with Arsenal, competing for his spot alongside Ben White. Fans supported Gabriel but also acknowledged that White is performing exceptionally well. Therefore, despite his contract with Arsenal running until 2026, White is in negotiations for an extension and a significant increase in his wages.
However, despite his stellar club performance, White has been overlooked by the England national team. Journalist Adrian Durham claims there might be unresolved conflicts between White and England’s manager, Gareth Southgate.

“Ben White returned home after the World Cup, and we all wondered why and hoped nothing had happened. We have never really found out why,” Durham questioned.
“Gareth Southgate not calling him up and not really addressing it makes you wonder. We have no information, but you suspect something may have happened between them, and Southgate might not be pleased with him.”
Conversely, Takehiro Tomiyasu played a significant role in Japan’s recent impressive victories against Germany and Turkey but is struggling with confidence at Arsenal. The defender stated: “I need to convince myself, or rather regain self-confidence. I need to recover the confidence I had. I wonder if that’s the issue? It’s very different at Arsenal, so if you ask me if I can be confident at Arsenal, I can’t say it’s 100%. I’m okay; I just need more confidence at Arsenal.”

Tomiyasu added: “I gained a lot of confidence after the two matches with the Japanese national team. But at Arsenal, the demands are very high, so if you ask me if I can do the same at Arsenal, I can’t say it’s 100%. I feel fine, but I just need more confidence at Arsenal.”
