The 24-year-old goalkeeper, also Liverpool’s League Cup custodian, is gearing up for his fifth appearance of the season, already matching his total outings from the previous campaign. With additional group stage matches and a League Cup quarter-final against West Ham United on the horizon, Kelleher is eager to capitalize on his opportunities.

Kelleher emphasized the importance of gaining match sharpness and building a good run of games for his development. While he acknowledges his current role as a backup, he remains steadfast in his ambition to become Liverpool’s number one goalkeeper.

He stated, “Clearly I am still back-up at the moment but my ambition is to play as many games as I can, that’s what I want to do. At the moment I am back-up but the ambition is to be a number one, and in the games I’m getting, I’m trying to make the most of that and play well.”

As Liverpool looks to potentially claim the top spot in their Europa League group, Kelleher remains aware of the attacking threat posed by Toulouse. Despite their convincing 5-1 victory against the French side at Anfield, he acknowledges the quality displayed by their opponents and remains focused on maintaining their performance.

Kelleher’s targets for the season are clear: “Firstly, for me it is to play as many games as I can, do well in those games, and keep up the level of performance. For the team, we want to win some trophies and do as well as we can. My main focus is on the game (on Thursday), I’m just trying to do well in that.”
