Antony responds to new assault allegations as two more accusers come forward

Antony has recently addressed fresh allegations of assault in an interview with Brazilian media, as two additional women have come forward with accusations against the forward.

Antony has once again denied the allegations as investigations by both Greater Manchester Police and Sao Paulo police continue. These accusations originate from his ex-girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin, who claims that Antony assaulted her on two separate occasions.

According to Cavallin, the 23-year-old allegedly headbutted and punched her in a hotel room on January 14, the day following a Premier League match against Manchester City. She states that she suffered a head injury and damage to a breast implant during this incident. Additionally, she alleges that Antony threw a glass cup at her after an away game against West Ham in London, resulting in cuts to her fingers.

Antony took to social media to assert his innocence, declaring that he has been “falsely accused of assault” and highlighting the distress his family has endured throughout the ordeal.

However, the Brazilian national team subsequently dropped the United winger from their squad, and two more women have since come forward with allegations.

Ingrid Lana, in an interview with Brazilian news outlet Record TV, claimed that Antony attempted to pressure her into sexual intercourse. A third woman, law student Rayssa de Freitas, accused the player of assault.

During an interview with Brazilian TV channel SBT, Antony addressed the accusations made against him. Regarding Cavallin’s allegations, he explained: “This was what happened: I left training in the morning, got my car, and went to the hotel where she was staying. We had lunch together, like normal. We chatted, like normal. All calm. Something that annoyed and irritated her was when I would say, ‘I need to go because I have things to do as well.’ I told her I needed to go, and at that point, there was an argument.”

Antony continued: “I was sitting on the bed. She grabbed my face. She flipped. She smashed a cup, smashed a plate… she came at me. At that moment, I held her. I didn’t squeeze her, didn’t do anything. I told her, ‘Calm down, calm down, calm down.'” He firmly denied headbutting her.

When asked about Lana’s allegations, Antony reiterated: “Negative. Negative. I’m 100 per cent certain that I never touched any woman. 100 per cent. I am certain. I will produce the proof, and people will understand. They will see the truth.”

He emphatically stated: “Never”, when questioned if he had assaulted any woman. Manchester United, in response to the ongoing situation, released a statement confirming their acknowledgment of the allegations and their commitment to taking them seriously, with consideration for the impact on abuse survivors.
